Segased signaalid / Mixed signals is an immersive art installation that revives the mechanical poetry of flap displays and split-flap mechanisms — vintage technologies once widely used in airports and train stations to display and communicate information.

Kristjan Pütsep and Dutch-born Renzo van Steenbergen are Tallinn-based artists working at the intersection of contemporary art, mechanical engineering, and cultural memory. Through their joint practice, they explore the sensory and emotional dimensions of technology, often reviving obsolete analogue systems within immersive environments.

Afterparty

As this year's DRAAMA festival draws to a close, it is time to wrap things up and throw a proper afterparty.

Whether you are a performer, director, stage technician, theatregoer, or critic—the entire theatre community is invited to the festival's official afterparty on Saturday, September 12, starting at 22:00 at Tartu New Teater.

Performers at the afterparty:

• Tantsulaager (Dance Camp) – A dance party with a wild twist. You can party alongside professional lead dancers who teach you simple routines from the stage, allowing you to dance along to your favourite songs in the crowd. Tantsulaager is suitable for dancing alone, as a couple, or with a group. It is a party for actual dancing. On stage: the beloved Maiken Pius, Oliver Soomets, and Märt Agu. Everyone in the crowd dances along, including you. There may also be surprise guest dancers.

• DJ Nils Mattias Steinberg – This year’s Best Supporting Actor laureate, who can also be seen in "Juulikuu lumi" (July Snow) in the festival's main programme. He has other ties to Tartu as well—for example, Vaino Vahing and "Suvekool" (Summer School).

• DJ Tõnis Niinemets – A man who makes it everywhere (including the DRAAMA festival). His Tartu DNA contains a bit of Annelinna Artur and a dash of Onu Bella. He also has his own exhibition at the Estonian Sports and Olympic Museum, which happens to be in Tartu.

• Juhan Liin – A techno music ensemble that plays techno and reads poetry simultaneously. They like to say that techno delivers poetry "straight to the vein," while the texts help the audience stay engaged and notice the music more. Expect heavy beats and sonnets, as it turns out that raving to Under (and others) is fantastic. It is a slightly absurd combination, but they believe a techno club is genuinely the best place to appreciate Estonian poetry. Juhan Liin consists of Elise Metsanurk and Kristiin Räägel.
