“The Big Feast”
happens when four people gather to execute one final and fatal deed.
Yet fatality is never sad but fluffy like a pudding, light like a
piece of lettuce and pure as an egg white. We have to fill the great
void which the cosmos, god and parents have left in us and it can
only be filled with love. After all, the way to a man’s heart is
through his stomach.
When the last supper is happening, nobody needs to hide anymore. You can forget about the wretched psychology, the yoke of the past and the dreadful suffering of life. It is the last one, therefore, everything is already alright. There is no reason to be afraid anymore. The table has been set and absolute freedom is served. All you have to do is take the fork and knife and cut yourself a slice, adhering to the table manners. Juicy delicious and fragrant slice, albeit the last one.
The performance is a
satirical comedy and a tragic dinner.
It was inspired by
Marco Ferreri’s film “La Grande Bouffe” (1973)
The premiere was held on May 16, 2012 at NO99.
The performance lasts for about 1 hour and 50 minutes without intermission.
The actors smoke and
eat on the stage!
